We stayed on our way to catch the ferry home from Caen. It was very easy to find and a stunning property steeped in history. The rooms were fascinating and we felt welcomed by Joseph and Ogen who were friendly and explained the history and restoration of the property which dates from 1260. The rooms that we stayed in had a modern shower bathroom between them and beautifully soft bathrobes and large towels were provided. We requested the evening meal and it was the best food we had eaten on our entire holiday, we were also asked for any dietary requests as well. Creatively prepared leek vinagrette opened the meal, local vegetables and deliciously moist cod for the main course and the meal finished with fresh strawberries and homemade Chantilly cream. They had a fully stocked bar which complemented the meal. It was a truly unique stay and would love to return when the weather would allow us to use the outdoor pool! We had breakfast the next day which consisted of fresh croissants and jam and Ogen also made some divine scrambled eggs with chives.

We had a wonderful stay at this charming property! The house, an ancient gem full of character, is located in the heart of the typical French countryside. Peter and Mario are exceptional hosts who truly understand the art of hospitality. They made us feel welcome and attended to our every need. The food was outstanding and a highlight of our stay.

Château du Grand Luçay is an amazing gem!! Pieter and Elise are generous hosts, they welcomed use into there home and we felt more like visiting friends. They had a lovely reception of wine, drinks and snacks for us when we arrived. The maintained the charm of the Château but added a few modern conveniences. The bathrooms were incredible, new and modern. After 2 weeks from home the bed was luxurious and so comfortable. We loved their dog Bella who was very patient we our puppy Hans. The breakfast was beyond delicious, amazing cheeses, cold meat selection, and pastries, with all the extras. Our children were in heaven. We will definitely be returning, hopefully soon!!

Terletak di Vichy, kawasan Auvergne, Chambre d'hôte Le jardin des Thermes terletak 4.4km dari Litar Perlumbaan Vichy. I had visited Vichy a few years ago and found it well worth a second visit. The guesthouse is situated in a fin-the-siècle (not the last one of course) villa just outside of the stunning spa complex and a few minutes' walk from the Allier river. Warm welcome by nice host who showed us around, Cosy, spacious room, nice lounge where you can prepare and eat your own meals. If there are other guests (there weren't) you share the lounge with them. Hygiene 100%. Good beds, shower a bit underpowered but nothing to complain about really. Adequate breakfast. Host would have been glad to look after our luggage until we left in the afternoon, but unfortunately had to leave for the day herself; her friend at the supermarket across the street was so kind to keep our bags, which is saying something about the atmosphere here. Easy, straightforward 15 minutes walk from the train station. Tip: follow the Avenue de Paris from the station and not the Gambetta as suggested by Google, not that it's bad but the Paris is much nicer and perhaps 10 seconds slower. Recommended.

A spotlessly clean, very well appointed room in a quiet rural setting, run by delightful hosts. We booked in for the Table dHote dinner which was extremely good, with a wide variety of excellent drinks included. We thoroughly enjoyed a very pleasant evening, chatting to our hosts. A real taste of the true France. A great breakfast, as well.

The manager and all of the staff we encountered were absolutely brilliant ! So helpful with our v elderly mother too - nothing was too much trouble . We will be back next year .

Lovely host, made us feel really welcome. Our apartment had all the facilities needed. At night the bedroom was dark and the neighbourhood quiet. The bedroom on the first floor had a ventilator. The breakfast was nice, and the dinner (optional) was very good and cosy, outside under the tent. Our daughter got to ride on the donkey, which she loves very much!
