The owners are welcoming and very informative. The hotel is quirky and fun, and the pool is very nice. The breakfasts are great. It's slightly out of town, but it's a short walk and the bonus is that it's in a quiet neighborhood with lots of good food options. Highly recommended.

Amazing new hotel right on the water We took a chance on this new hotel and it exceeded our expectations. Everything is new, the pool is wonderful, tastefully decorated, and very helpful staff. The wifi was solid, which was great as on this remote Island often is is very slow. This allowed me to get some(not much;) work done. The sea life was such a special part for us as we enjoyed our cocktails by the pool in the afternoon. The staff let us know the restaurant is not open yet, but told us it will be in a couple of months. They do provide a great breakfast at the hotel across the street. The tours they recommended were excellent! Overall a great hotel that we would come back to on this beautiful Island. Located in Puerto Ayora, 0.9 km from malecon, El Descanso del Guia features air-conditioned rooms and an outdoor swimming pool. Very clean, comfortable hotel with great staff. The hotel is a little out of town, but there are free bicycles available and taxis are easy to find or the hotel will help you if you want. The pool is very nice as well.
