First time during our trip in Denmark we have so many vegetarian options during breakfast and during dinner. Super! It is a special place, with special atmosphere, completely quaiet, near the old medieval church with very interesting history. Very friedly and practical arrangement of the room. Absolutely quaiet.

Situated next to Schackenborg Castle in the picturesque village of Møgeltønder, this inn dates back to 1687. Location is great and the room that we got was very spacious and lovely - we loved the old school vibes! The bed was super comfy with fluffy pillows and warm covers. I appreciated the option to open windows and the blinds as I like to sleep in the dark. Breakfast didn’t have tons of options but all the staples were available; eggs, sausage, bacon, rolls + yoghurt and cereal and fresh fruit. No fresh juice but bottled drinks in several flavors were pretty good!

Located in the southern Jutland town of Rødekro, this inn is 12 minutes’ drive from central Aabenraa. It offers free Wi-Fi and a restaurant with seasonal Danish cuisine. Friendly reception . Good bicycle storage inside and secure . Our room, #22 was large but without ambiance and right off the highway with traffic noise continually . Had A/C so we just kept the windows closed to decrease the noise . Our room was at the top is one of the narrowest and steepest staircases that we have experienced in a European Hotel . Only way out of the room was down the narrow stairs in an emergency or a fire . Really not a good idea or plan . Breakfast was good with several hot and cold choices .

Dating back to 1566, this cosy inn is in Padborg, just 3 km from the German border. All rooms have a flat-screen TV, and WiFi is free throughout the premises. The breakfast was wonderful !!!! The Kro was clean, quiet, comfortable and the staff were very helpful. There was a beautiful old Danish church across the road. The staff spoke English very well ( my Danish is only middling well).

This 16th-century inn is situated 3 km from the town of Christiansfeld. It offers old world charm in a quiet setting. Both central Kolding and Grønninghoved Beach are 20 minutes’ drive away. nice, cosy and comfortable inn with amazing food. Good room with a good bed. convenient for an overnight stay on a long drive home
