I love walking in the bush or next to the ocean and am privileged to be able to do both. Cooking is for fun! We love sharing our home . The small coastal town of Witsand, known as the whale nursery of South Africa, is where we are now and sharing this beautiful small coastal town with visitors is now my mission.

Witsand is a small seaside village in the Western Cape, where the Breed River flows into the sea. Known as a fantastic fishing spot, it is however the most amazing place to view whales. More specifically the southern wright, which uses this coastline as a calving and breeding spot. From around beginning of June until late into November every year, you can watch the whales from our lounge and patios. Kite surfing is done on the lagoon in the river mouth and out to sea, fishing charters are available and a long beach with rock pools to explore, as well as lovely swimming beach close to the river mouth. Skiing and boating on the river, from the mouth to the Malagas Ferry (35km up river). Although Witsand is not a commercial town, it does offer access to all your basic needs - Restaurants, grocery and liquor stores, fuel pumps and a permanent craft market in the old Wool Shed.
