.Waterblom in Pringle is a newly renovated, sea-front house 70m from the rugged, rocky Atlantic coastline in the charming seaside village of Pringle Bay. Accommodation is offered in two independent, self-catering units, namely Suikerbos (Sugar Bush) and Kleinblom (Little Flower).
Our first-floor unit, Suikerbos, can accommodate two guests in an open-plan, loft-style unit with modern and classic touches. Suikerbos features two twin beds, and the en-suite bathroom is equipped with a shower, basin, and toilet. The kitchen is fully equipped with a four-plate gas hob, an electric oven, a microwave, a toaster, a kettle, a Nespresso machine, a fridge-freezer, cutlery, crockery, and a dishwasher. Meals can be enjoyed at the dining table. There is a dedicated workspace and a flat-screen smart TV with Netflix.
Suikerbos offers unlimited wifi and Weber braai facilities. Kindly bring briquettes and beach towels if required.
Suikerbos features a sea-facing French balcony with sliding doors and a private outside terrace with mountain views. (Regrettably, access to the main veranda is reserved exclusively for guests residing in the primary residence, Waterblom. Consequently, the large sliding door will remain locked - but not the view!) Suikerbos is tastefully decorated with original art and photography. Even with a Cape winter storm raging outside, you can relax and unwind in the designer Studio Stirling swing chair while enjoying a cup of Nespresso or a glass of wine.
I am a South African diplomat, currently working in India. I love to travel, but home is in Pringle Bay.
Waterblom is our family home. (The name Waterblom refers to a traditional Cape dish, Waterblommetjies.) From humble beginnings in 1977, our parents carefully developed and expanded the house. In 2023, we fully renovated the house. She has many stories to tell.
Our co-host and neighbour, Maryn, lives in Pringle Bay permanently. She helps with the day-to-day management of the property. She loves nature and is an excellent source of information on what is happening in Pringle Bay. Lucia is our cleaner. She lives in Kleinmond. She takes special pride in ensuring that every little detail is ready for your visit.
We always say, "Pringle is where the angels play" and we love to share this special place with you.
Located at the end of a cul-de-sac on Pringle Bay's peninsula, Suikerbos is an excellent choice for visitors exploring the picturesque coastal town. In the heart of the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve, Pringle Bay is renowned for exceptional biodiversity. The village is nestled at the base of Hangklip Mountain, marking the southeastern boundary of False Bay. You can see the Cape of Good Hope across the ocean!
Pringle Bay offers a variety of recreational activities, including snorkeling, diving, hiking, biking, surfing, and fishing. The town's charm lies in its tranquil ambiance, featuring an array of restaurants and curio shops catering to locals, tourists, and passersby.
If you love nature, walking, exploring, bird watching, Fynbos, being surrounded by mountains and the dramatic waves crashing on the rocky coastline, come to Pringle. The pristine, white beach is a short drive or leisurely walk away. Young and old love the warm and protected lagoon where the Buffels River flows into the sea. As in the rest of the village, light pollution is kept to a minimum, and there are no street lights. Our neighbouring village, Betty's Bay, houses a large African penguin colony as well as the Harold Porter Nature Reserve. To enjoy what the surrounding area has to offer, a car is necessary.
