Bokmakierie cabin is located on the farm PERDEBERGKOP, which earned it’s moniker from the iconic Dwyka Group Glacial Rocks one witnesses to the right as you enter through the farm gate. Nestled in the heart of the Tankwa karoo, a mere 2 ½ hours’ drive from Cape Town, Perdebergkop welcomes you to explore the vastness of the Karooscape from your secluded and private cabin. A couple’s retreat, Bokmakierie cabin has one bedroom en-suite with an extra-length queen size bed. The cabin is off-grid. An open plan kitchen, equipped with a gas plate & air fryer and lounge area with fireplace, completes the picture. The entire cabin opens up to a veranda in the front which features a built-in hot tub from where guests can relax while watching the resident Springbok & Gemsbok. A weber braai is available for barbecuing. The cabin also features a veranda to the back. Equipped with a daybed, unwind while watching a spectacular Tankwa sunset! A short walk through the Karoo fynbos takes guests to some fascinating Dwyka rock formations (which forms part of the Watervalsberg), while affording the opportunity to listen to and watch the abundant birdlife, year around. At 1200 hectares, Perdebergkop is a game farm, including Gemsbok. Springbok, Kudu & Grey Rhebok. Guests are welcome to hike on the farm, but are advised to keep a safe distance from the game. Not only is Perdebergkop home to some ancient geology, it also boasts the convergence of two very unique plant biomes, namely the Succulent Karoo Biome and the Mountain Fynbos Biome. A true biodiversity hotspot with spectacular spring and autumn flowers, rain permitted! And to the mountain pass aficionados, Katbakkies pass and Skittery pass are a stone’s throw away! Upon entering Skittery pass, allow Aloe comosa to dazzle with its tall, slender inflorescence during the months of December and January.
