Avondrood is a small Cape Victorian-style guest house in the historical part of Franschhoek. It features an outdoor pool set within gardens, a reception room with a fireplace and wine bar, and free Wi-Fi in the lounge and patio area. All of the spacious guest rooms in this boutique guest house are equipped with a TV, air conditioning and an en suite bathroom. Some rooms provide views of the tranquil gardens or the Wemmershoek Mountains. A breakfast made of home-made pastries is served in the Avondrood’s dining room or out on the garden terrace. Avondrood’s original Victorian Cape-Dutch home offers guests a beautiful peaceful stay with a rich historical feel of French Huguenot culture combined with all of the modern luxuries and amenities you desire. Just a short stroll down the road you will find the main village of Franschhoek with world-renowned restaurants, charming gift shops, cafes and magnificent historical buildings and museums to explore. If rest is what you need, stay in and enjoy the tranquil gardens at Avondrood. Private and scenic the 2000sq meter gardens surround a large pool, heated jacuzzi and outdoor breakfast veranda which boasts views of the mountains. Inside the main house you can relish in the spacious lounge next to the grand fireplace or settle into your favourite cocktail at the fully stocked bar and watch the game. There are eight large suites to choose from, all lavishly decorated with individual themes and character. Wake to a full breakfast with your stay,served with locally roasted coffee.

Close by you will find two high-ranking golf courses; Pearl Valley and Boschenmeer. Most of the surrounding vineyards offer wine tasting followed by lunch should you so wish. The vineyards and the surrounding countryside can be explored by car, bicycle, on horseback or on foot; in short there is lot for you to enjoy and experience in Franschhoek. But should you prefer to take it more leisurely then why not simply enjoy the African sun from the side of our swimming pool, or from our patio or garden; Franschhoek has on average 3000 hours of sun a year and the sunrises and sunsets are a must-see in their own right, which can be viewed from the comfort of Avondrood Guesthouse.
