At Olive is conveniently situated close to the Emerald Casino and resort, featuring activities such as gambling, restaurants, spa facilities, game drives, river cruises, and the aqua dome. The Northwest University and Vaal university of technology are nearby, ideal for lecturers and students. The Vaal Triangle boasts many attractions and venues located on the Vaal River, perfect for recreation, weddings and events. Golf lovers can choose between three excellent golf courses, the newly renovated Emfuleni, Heron Banks, and Maccauvlei. Annual national sport events are often hosted at the Sasolburg Olympic swimming pool and surrounding sport grounds, located less than 10km from the guest house.
