Guest access
The full cabin is welcome for you to use! The single bedroom is equipped with black out curtains so you can sleep in to your hearts desire. The living room has a pull out sofa bed with added foam topper to make sure everyone gets a good nights sleep.
The driveway is a bit steep, but can hold at least 4 vehicles. Feel free to park left of the driveway, but please leave the road open for our neighbors.
Please be sure to check the National Park Service website for any closures in the area.
Given our remote location, power outages are common, especially during inclement weather. Please note that the cabin sits atop the Jemez Mountains, accessible via narrow mountain roads. In winter, these roads may be covered in snow or ice, requiring a four-wheel drive

Thompson Ridge, Jemez Springs
Tucked high in the breathtaking Jemez Mountains, Thompson Ridge is one of New Mexico’s best-kept secrets—a peaceful, pine-filled retreat that feels worlds away, yet still within easy reach of Jemez Springs and the iconic San Antonio Hot Springs. Perched at 8,600 feet, this small mountain community offers unbeatable access to nature, fresh alpine air, and a true sense of escape.
The neighborhood is surrounded by the Santa Fe National Forest, with endless trails for hiking, snowshoeing, wildlife watching, and exploring right out the front door. Towering Ponderosa pines, Gambel oaks, and aspens frame every view, and the stars at night? Unreal.
Though it’s a secluded area, Thompson Ridge is home to a friendly mix of full-time residents and weekend adventurers. You’ll often see neighbors out walking their dogs or gathering for a cup of coffee, but you’ll still enjoy plenty of privacy and quiet. Roads are maintained year-round, though winter travelers should be prepared for snowy conditions—just part of the charm!
Staying here means unplugging, slowing down, and immersing yourself in the rugged beauty of Northern New Mexico. Whether you’re soaking at nearby hot springs, driving the scenic Jemez Mountain Trail, or simply sipping your morning coffee on the deck with nothing but birdsong and mountain breezes, Thompson Ridge is the perfect place to reconnect—with nature, with loved ones, or just with yourself.
