Cedarwood Lodge is a charming 3 BR mountain cabin sitting on 8 private acres surrounded by Moshannon State Forest with access to nearly 200,000 acres of forested wilderness. The Cedarwood Lodge is a popular place to hold small family reunions or to use as a base camp to explore the natural surroundings for which the Pennsylvania Wilds is famous. Nearby Parker Dam and S.B. Elliott State Parks offer boating and swimming in the summer, and snowmobiling and cross country skiing in the winter. The Elk Visitor's Center in Benezette is a scenic 30 minute drive. Get away from it all, with comfort in a rustic setting at Cedarwood Lodge. Accommodates 6 to 8 guests. Built in 1989, the cabin does not meet the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessibility. However, there is a ramp from the gravel driveway to the entrance door (beginning ramp height is a couple of inches above the ground and one standard step from the end of the ramp into the cabin). Two bedrooms and the bathroom are located on the first floor of the cabin for guests who are unable to navigate the spiral staircase. PA Wilds Vacation Rentals offers short & long-term lodging in 3 settings – a riverfront Victorian B&B, and a private downtown apartment - both in downtown Clearfield, PA; and a private 3 BR mountain cabin adjacent to the Moshannon State Forest. Tim & Peggy Durant's hospitality journey: We bought a run-down 1894 riverfront Victorian home in 1976. The intention was to restore the home to its former splendor & raise our family in it. Renovations completed over the course of 14 years to the current 13 rooms (6 bedrooms) & 3 1/2 baths. As our children began leaving home, we opened the Victorian Loft B&B in 1992 beginning with the Loft Suite and adding Lydia's Room 3 years later. We also started renting our family's second home, Cedarwood Lodge, to vacationers in 1992. The 3 BR mountain cabin sleeps up to six guests, sits on 8 private acres surrounded by the Moshannon State Forest. A few years later, we added the Second Street Suite, a 1 BR vacation rental apartment which can sleep up to five guests. Tim is an attorney in solo practice, and we own & manage residential rental units.
