Just as the Black Walnut has had many different construction phases and updates, so has its owner had many different careers and passions. Jen found her way to the Finger Lakes on a pursuit to learn about wine, wine making, and more specifically, to experience a wine harvest. After two harvest seasons and a winter in the vineyard, she did learn a thing or two, but definitely appreciates the wine she drinks and shares with her guests even more than before. More importantly, over that time she fell in love with the area and wanted to bring more of her skills to life as she settled in.
Jen is happy to help plan your stay in any capacity. She has an extensive knowledge of the many wineries (and breweries, cideries, and distilleries) in the area, and can cater any tasting trip to your preferred style. If you'd like to explore the lakes and beaches, the gorge trails and waterfalls, or just hang in the sun, just ask. And if you're still hungry after breakfast, she's happy to guide you to delicious, locally sourced restaurants both near and far.
Oh yeah, that cautious but friendly little cat in a tuxedo is Rufio and he loves head and cheek scratches.
