She has been developing this property for more than 2 decades. Roy Alexander Malcolm developed several day spas in California over a 30 year period and now consults with other spa owners to enhance their offerings. He is a gifted healer practicing 10 styles of massage. He trained in yoga and meditation in India and California and has taught yoga, meditation and massage at Esalen Institute in Big Sur California. Together they offer you this exquisite home for your relaxation and pleasure. We are pleased to offer private chef services or in-room massage during your stay. Adams Hill House Retreat Center is located on 25 private acres. It was designed by Douglas Jaubert, a local child who became architect and designer to an international client base. It features eclectic, internationally sourced luxury furnishings, fine art and oriental rugs in a large house that has long mountain views from every window. Staying here is like stepping out of time. Within one or two days you feel refreshed as your tired nervous system recovers with a long steep in the two-person tubs or lounging under the pergola on the front patio. While you might think you'll read, likely you will find yourself just gazing out across the mountains. This property is very quiet. You hear the river below the house, the wind in the trees and the soft falling of snow or rain. Most of our guests comment on the complete peace of being away from road noise and other houses. A few twinkling lights through the trees in the forest below or up on the ridge 4 miles away are all you see. Swim in the spring-fed pond up at our farm, 2 miles away (walk, bike, drive), take a long hike right out the front door or cross country ski in the 2000 acre maintained forest at the end of Adams Hill.
