After some adjustments and innovations, our holiday home is now ready for rental. Rental starts from 25 February 2019. Minimum stay in our cabin is 2/3 nights. In 2018 we have emigrated from the Netherlands to Sweden. We would like our guests to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. If you are coming by plane and train then there is the possibility to arrange transport from Rättvik to our accommodation. Furthermore, we are happy to give you information about various activities and attractions in the area.
Vikarbyn is a place in the municipality of Rättvik in the Dalarna landscape. Vikarbyn is located on the Siljan lake. The Siljan is the seventh largest lake in Sweden. It has an area of 290 km² and a maximum depth of 134 meters. The surface is located 161 meters above sea level. The river Österdalälven flows through the lake. Siljan is directly connected to the lake Orsasjön, which is situated to the north, where the river Oreälven flows. The lake and the surrounding landscape were created by the impact of a meteorite. On the shores of the lake you can enjoy the idyllic vistas, the beaches or the lovely villages and towns such as Leksand, Tällberg, Rättvik and Mora. Mora is also known for the Vasaloppet a large lanflaufevenement, but there is also a bicycle and running variant in the summer. Rättvik is known for the many classic cars in the region and the annual Classic Car Week event in August.
