Penha Longa is an elegant palazzo-style estate situated among the rolling hills of the Sintra Cascais Nature Reserve. The 5-star resort features a 27-hole championship golf course, a state-of-the-art 1,500m² spa centre, and two of seven dining experiences hold coveted Michelin stars. All guest rooms feature private balconies, giving views across the landscaped gardens, swimming pools and golf courses. Beds are fitted with Egyptian cotton sheets, and all rooms are equipped with a Nespresso coffee machine, air conditioning, iPod docking station, a high-speed internet connection and a plasma-screen TV. Perhaps the most famous of these is the recently-renovated Midori, Portugal's only michelin-starred Japanese restaurant. Also featured are Sergi Arola's LAB and Arola restaurants. The Penha Longa Mercatto italian restaurant is also the site of the daily breakfast buffet, with scenic views over the Sintra mountains. And the AQUA poolside seasonal restaurant. The resort's golf course was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. and is in the top 30 in Continental Europe. The hotel has many recreation facilities, including indoor and outdoor pools, both tennis and squash courts, horse riding, fitness centre and a spa with treatments and an exclusive garden. A children’s playground, mini golf course and Kids' Club are also featured. Penha Longa is in a prime location for hiking and cycling excursions. The resort is a 25-minute drive from the Lisbon International Airport.
