Chris, an Eketahuna born gent, wanted a challenge so he ran away from NZ (as you do) and made a life for himself in the big smoke, cooking up a storm before managing large teams in cutting edge, buzzy restaurants. I’m Jeanette, your hello person. I love people. I’ll love you. We are foodies who like to nurture through the dining experience creating a sense of belonging, as in, you’re invited to dinner. We feel blessed to be able to welcome all you journeyers into Wallingford and its surrounds, lands of immense beauty and a community brimming with hope, vision and big heartedness.

Wallingford is a gracious and historic Hawke's Bay homestead steeped in history and intrigue. A labyrinth of corridors lead to various wings of the homestead and 6 well appointed guest rooms. Surrounded by mature gardens and sweeping lawns the homestead is perfectly and privately surrounded by a 2200 acre working estate making Wallingford the perfect location for a farm stay retreat. Our pool and pavilion complex includes Sky TV for sports fans with impressive surround sound system and a 65" plasma screen, warmington log fire and barbeque. The area boasts many exciting activities including: scenic helicopter flights, mountain bike tracks, bush walks, lake activities, wine tasting, Maori cultural marae tours, other impressive homestead visits and the iconic Porangahau beach just 10 minutes down the road.

Wallingford is a rural settlement with a village hall, church and beautiful countryside well away from the hustle and bustle of city life. There is a strong community spirit and people are so friendly. We are just 10 minutes down the road from the iconic Porangahau Beach, great for swimming and walking. Porangahau Country club and golf course, bush walks, mountain biking, lake activities, river fishing and many more activities. Waipukurau is the closest town and the Duke of Edinburgh Pub serves great meals.
