On arrival you will find a large parking area, with three dedicated parking spots to the right of the drive. Check in is from 4PM to 10PM. Please contact us if you want to arrive outside those times, rooms are not always ready before 4PM. We like to greet you in person, but on occasion we may deposit a key in a lockbox. The rooms are to the right of the property, away from the family home. Mangawhero and Mangateitei share an entrance, but are separated by the bathrooms. We have provided photos that describe the room locations. Each room is 18m2, which is cosy, but suitable for up to 3 days. Suitcases can be stored under the bed.
Each room has a breakfast kitchen. Your breakfast will be prepared and left in the fridge for you to eat in your room or on the deck. Enjoy an early start or lazy morning in privacy, there is no shared dining room.
Serene gardens, quiet rooms, ambient sounds and the promise of a spa offer you a chance to relax after your journey.
We want your stay to be extra-special, if you have specific requirements before or during your stay then please speak to us. If we can help, we will.
Ula is from Poland and Scott from the UK. After marrying, we lived in the UK for ten years before moving to New Zealand in 2011. In June 2024 we moved from Wellington where we had careers in IT to live in Ohakune. Ula has long had the dream of running a retreat, somewhere that people can find rest and recuperation. Where nature works its magic and people can just enjoy some peace and quiet.
The previous owners of Two Rivers have built and developed something really special, and we are thrilled to take on this property and share our little piece of heaven with discerning guests from around the world. We welcome anyone and everyone to share a few nights next to our Two Rivers.
We are on a quiet residential street with no thoroughfare. There is minimal traffic passing our house, though you will mostly just hear the relaxing flow of the two rivers. Directly across from our driveway is the Jubilee Riverside walk which will take you to the Ohakune i-site and on to the Ohakune Carrot Adventure Park, a 20 minute stroll. Return via town and one of the many cafes selling excellent coffee (and cake - well you're on holiday). The Old Coach Road is only 3.5km away, where you can walk or cycle to Horopito, or just to the viaduct and have a picnic at the massive table. There are several cafes, bars and restaurants only 1km or a 10 minute stroll into town.
