Come and experience everything our unique property has to offer, this private retreat boasts breath-taking views across the valley, luxurious indoor/outdoor living and entertaining with multiple zones to relax in. Award-winning New Zealand architect Andrew Patterson conceptualised this timeless masterpiece in the 1980's. The privacy, lack of distractions and connection to nature led Neil Finn and Crowded House to record the album Together Alone at the property. There are three well-sized bedrooms at Ahu Ahu House providing ample space for up to six adults and 2 children to stay. Bedroom one offers a spacious queen bed and private ensuite. The daybed can also convert into one or two single kids beds on request. Bedroom two offers a queen bed, and bedroom three a double bed. The stainless steel kitchen has everything you need to start your morning right, including a nespresso coffee machine to make that all important flat white. When you’re ready to kick back at the end of the day, the lounge also has a Smart TV with Netflix for your enjoyment. An outdoor alfresco dining and entertaining provides a gorgeous space to share a meal with the family, complete with dining table and chairs and two outdoor lounge settings to enjoy with your morning coffee or afternoon glass of vino. From here, you have the chance to truly unwind and embrace the surrounding Karekare landscape. Things to note: We are on tank water so we have to ask that guests have short showers, and use the water carefully ie no running taps etc. Mobile phone coverage is not great but our Starlink wifi is great and we use wifi calling successfully.

The property offers close access to Karekare Beach with it's on private track connecting to The Ahu Ahu trail which takes you to the magical sunset spot above Karekare Beach. The beach can also be reached by car or on foot in less than 5 minutes. A two-minute drive will also find you at Karekare Falls, a lush tropical waterfall that will make you second-guess whether you’re still in New Zealand. If you fancy a trip slightly further afield, a 12-minute drive will find you at the iconic Piha Beach, where you might enjoy lunch at one of the fabulous café’s, an adventurous climb up famous Lion Rock, or just a relaxing stroll along the beach.
