Zuidwolde is a small village in the north of the Netherlands and has several protected village views. It lies between the nice towns of Meppel, Ommen, Zwolle, Groningen and Emmen. It is a quiet rural tourist village with lots of activities to do in the area. Ideal for a nice walk or bike ride. Some tourist highlights in the area are; Giethoorn ('Venice from the North'), Orvelte (authentic farming village), famous Wildlife Zoo 'Wildlands' in Emmen and Ponypark Slagharen. Also in the immediate vicinity of Zuidwolde there are special sights such as Havezathes, beautiful nature reserves and authentic countryside areas such as the 'Reestdal,' Echtens Paradijs' etc. In the immediate vicinity you do not get too short in culinary terms. There are several interesting restaurants in all price ranges, including a 2 * Michelin star restaurant. At less than 3 KM from the accommodation is a very nice Sauna in an old Saxon farm.
