For a dog, we charge 5,00 Eur per day. Dogs must be registered in advance. -Fishing license price: 15 Eur per week. -Barbecue is allowed. -Smoking in the house leads to loss of security deposit.

Harbor house Nirvana is a modern house with beautiful views over the Lauwersmeer. The house is fully equipped and well behaved dogs are welcome. (Features:) Nirvana has a floor space of approximately 80 m² and can accommodate up to 6 people. On the ground floor are 2 bedrooms, one has a double bed and another has a queen-sized bed. From the kitchen, you can go to the terrace. There is a bathroom with a shower and toilet as well as a separate toiletroom. There is also an outside walk-in storage room. The sauna is located on the right side of the kitchen. It has enough place for 3 persons. In the attic, is the living room and through the "panoramic windows" you have a beautiful view over the harbor and the Lauwersmeer lake. The same view can be enjoyed from the covered balcony. Another, small room next to the living room is used as a third bedroom with two one-person beds. (Outdoor area:) The parking is located on the property. The terrace is equipped with garden furniture. Grilling is in the garden allowed. (Distinctive features:) The internet, sauna and washing machine are free of charge in Nirvana and baby cot and high chair are available on request.

Oostmahorn is an old stronghold at the at the western side of the Lauwerslake with a rich history, dating back to the sixteenth century. Nowadays it’s a very pleasant tourist destination at the National Park Lauwersmeer, hosting several holiday resorts. The lake itself and the direct surroundings are a true paradise for nature lovers, fisherman, bird watchers, water sports enthusiasts, cyclists and hikers. Dogs are more than welcome here as well. There’s a special beach and a forest for them at Lauwersoog. Within a couple of hundreds of meters there are several playgrounds for children. At the beach, in the small resort ‘De Skâns’ and in Esonstad - which is a holiday resort build as a replica of a typical old Frysian city. In Esonstad you’ll even find a bouncy castle and an indoor playing hall and one can play golf and foot golf here at the local Pitch & Putt area. Renting a bicycle or e-chopper is also possible here. In Esonstad you can easily do your daily groceries (a bigger supermarkt is just a couple of kilometers away in Anjum) or find a restaurant, pizzeria or a snackbar. Another three restaurants are even closer to your holiday house. Some of them offer spectacular lake views. Other good options to enjoy the local seafood cuisine are the sea harbor of Lauwersoog at the northern side of the lake, the old fishing village of Zoutkamp at the eastside of the lake or at Dokkum, the most northern fortified city of Friesland. To discover the National Park from the waterside you could bring your own boat or surf gear but there are boats and sailing boats for rent as well at ‘Paviljoen La Barca’. A boat-tour, or seal expedition can be booked around the corner and a ferry to the beautiful island of Schiermonnikoog, with it’s many miles of sandy beaches, is leaving from Oostmahorn as well. With the title Dark Sky Park, in Lauwersmeer National Park you can truly experience nature in the dark!
