Hello, my name is Sam Nang and I am a local guide and host at Mechrey Floating Village. I was born and raised in this village and I love to share my culture and lifestyle with visitors from around the world. I have been working as a guide and host for over 5years and I have a lot of experience and knowledge about the Tonle Sap Lake, the floating village, and the floating forest. Mechrey Floating Village is one of the most authentic and scenic floating villages in Siem Reap, Cambodia. It is located on the Tonle Sap Lake, the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia and a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. The village is home to about 300 families who live in wooden houses on stilts or floating platforms. The villagers depend on fishing, farming, and tourism for their livelihoods. They also have a unique culture and lifestyle that is adapted to the changing water levels of the lake.
