Hi, I’m Oneway! I’ve been living in beautiful Kyoto for 20 years now.
I love creating cozy spaces—sometimes just changing a corner of the room can give it a whole new feeling! I also enjoy exploring Kyoto’s hidden spots, always looking for delicious food and local gems. Lately, I found a tiny takoyaki place hidden in the backstreets of Gion, and a lovely secret spot along the Philosopher’s Path where the seasonal flowers are breathtaking.
I became a host because I want travelers to feel at home while discovering Kyoto — not only its famous temples and shrines, but also the peaceful, everyday charm of living here. I hope to help you experience the warm and relaxed side of Kyoto that locals enjoy.
Looking forward to welcoming you and helping you create your own special Kyoto memories!

周辺エリアの情報
Our house is located in a traditional residential neighborhood of Kyoto. This area was once a bustling part of Mibu, and although the hustle and bustle has faded, it still retains a calm and peaceful atmosphere shaped by history.
It’s about a 7-minute walk to Nijo Station, where you can take both JR and subway lines. From there, Kyoto Station is just two stops away (about 7 minutes), making it easy to reach all parts of the city.
There are also many charming spots to explore nearby. Within a 10-minute walk you’ll find Mibu-dera Temple, which preserves relics connected to the Shinsengumi and tells stories of that era. A short walk away is Mibu Market, a lively, down-to-earth place where you can experience Kyoto’s daily life. In about 12 minutes on foot, you can reach Nijo Castle, the symbol of the Tokugawa Shogunate, where the vermilion halls and the famous “chirping nightingale floors” still evoke the quiet dignity of the Edo period.
For further sightseeing, transportation is very convenient. From Nijo Station, it’s easy to reach Fushimi Inari Taisha—just transfer at Kyoto Station to the JR Nara Line and within minutes you’ll be walking through the thousands of iconic red torii gates. Other major attractions such as Arashiyama, Toei Kyoto Studio Park, Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, Kyoto Imperial Palace, Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion), Myoshin-ji Temple, and Seimei Shrine can all be reached within an hour, making this house an ideal base for exploring both western Kyoto and the city center.
The neighborhood also offers plenty of conveniences. Within a 5-minute walk, you’ll find ramen shops, sukiyaki, and late-night izakayas. Within 10 minutes, there are shopping centers, drugstores, supermarkets, convenience stores, and even a public bathhouse — everything you need for daily life.
From here, you can easily travel between famous landmarks while also enjoying the quiet, everyday charm of Kyoto. It’s a rare and comfortable place to settle during your journey.
