Ármót Guesthouse is located on Ármót Farm, one of the finest world-class equestrian properties in the country. The guesthouse was established in 2018 and offers guests a true Icelandic countryside experience.
The Ármot farm is 470 hectares of beautiful grounds and is one of the finest world-class equestrian properties in the country, renowned for hosting horse competitions, horse shows and horse training. The farm includes two individual horse stables, with a tack room, lounges, an indoor riding hall, extensive staff quarters and acres of paddocks and fields.
Guests staying at Ármót Guesthouse are free to explore the equestrian property, take a walk through the stables and interact with the horses. It gives guests the experience of authentic Icelandic farm life and the opportunity to get to know Iceland’s finest horses.

Located in one of Iceland’s most picturesque spots with fantastic river and mountain views, charming Ármót Guesthouse offers a true Icelandic countryside experience, in midst of a world-class equestrian farm. The peaceful location invites guests to explore the spectacular midnight sunsets during summers or go star-gazing and Northern Light spotting during the winter months.
Our establishment comprises the main guesthouse, an adjacent apartment, and two charming cottages.
The main guesthouse features six beautifully appointed double rooms spread across two floors available for rent year-round directly. The Standard Suite and Junior Suite boast private bathrooms, while the remaining rooms share two communal bathrooms. On the second floor, guests can unwind in our cozy lounge area, complete with a flat-screen TV and expansive windows offering panoramic views in all directions. For those seeking a more independent stay, our apartment offers a cozy haven with a bedroom featuring a double bed, a living area with a sofa bed, and a fully equipped kitchen. The two cottages each feature three bedrooms with single beds, a dining area equipped with a kitchenette, and a private bathroom.
All rooms are elegantly furnished, boasting new beds and custom-made furniture. Ármót Guesthouse provides complimentary Wi-Fi and parking for all guests. Breakfast is included in the room rates for guests staying in the guesthouse, while those in the apartment or cottages have the option to add breakfast at an additional charge.
Breakfast is served in the main building, but there are currently no other dining options on site. Individual guests do not have access to a common kitchen, while groups of 10 or more can make a reservation that includes kitchen and dining room access. Guests staying in apartments or cottages have their own kitchen facilities.

Ármót Guesthouse is located in a very peaceful area just about 10 minutes' drive from the villages of Hella and Hvolsvöllur, hence remote from the busy and noisy highway. Ármót Guesthouse is perfectly situated for travelers exploring South Iceland, with the Golden Circle to the West and iconic attractions like Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss waterfalls, as well as the charming town of Vík, to the East.
Nestled in one of Iceland’s most scenic locations with breathtaking views of rivers and mountains. Its surroundings and panoramic vistas are among its distinctive highlights. On clear days, guests can marvel at the volcano Eyjafjallajökull and Mt. Hekla, with views extending to the Westman Islands. This tranquil setting invites guests to experience stunning midnight sunsets in the summer or indulge in stargazing and Northern Lights sightings during the winter season.
For dining and shopping we recommend a stop in the nearby villages Hella (when driving from Reykjavik) or Hvolsvöllur (when driving from the east/south).
For guests arriving from Reykjavík (west), the shortest way to Ármót Guesthouse is the new road just after Hella (Oddi - junction 266), which is a nicer to drive than the gravel road from Hvolsvöllur (nr 252).
