Why Baba Luru’s
My name is Keegan Marinos Moras. Not the most common one in the Himalayas, where I used to live. The local village folk in Himachal used to address me as ‘Bangalore Baba’ since that’s where I moved from. And now as our city officially had its name changed to Bengaluru, I thought we’d go with Baba Luru’s.. has a nice ring to it!
(A shout out to Krishna Bhaiya from Old Manali)
Also run an adventure sports company, where we take groups of 12 to domestic hideaways & overseas locations for primarily Ocean sports & Mountaineering.
Looking forward to welcoming you here in Varkala :)

Baba Luru’s is a coastal communal living set up where we have shared common spaces, 5 private air conditioned rooms, a 4 bed dorm (female only) and a cottage in a setting which encourages authentic social interaction.
We have 7 dogs on the property (Taco, Salsa, Peanut, Momo Junior, Maggie, Banana & Coconut) handling security (that’s debatable) Rather, giving out hugs and kisses to those keen on saying elllo! This is in addition to our permanent residents comprising of chickens, ducks, rabbits, a cat (Pepper), guinea pigs and goats – You know, we’re out here in Varkala reliving the days on Noah’s Ark - which is why there will be welcome additions to this fun bunch in the weeks to come.
We’ve got tons of fruit trees (Mango, Papaya, banana, coconut, passion fruit, jackfruit) that form part of our breakfasts; and veggies (curry leaves, celery, rosemary, drumsticks, beans, spring onions) and spices (Pepper, cinnamon etc) which we use in our homemade meals cooked by our very own Sassy Suzie.
The dorms can be booked through our website (www.babaluru.com) or on IG and is open to females only. IG: @babalurus
Making conscious steps in preparation to live off the land is paramount – that might take a wee while but one step at a time, as always.
