Our property is centrally situated in the hills surrounding Jerusalem. A village inhabited by Kurdish immigrants since the 1950s, it is now also home to Israelis and a few Anglos. We love the nature, the fresh Jerusalem air and the quiet. While our property is only minutes away from downtown Jerusalem, it is just off the main highway and has easy access to Tel Aviv and other areas of Israel. Unusual to Israel, our studio apartment is furnished with Queen Anne style furniture and antiques. Art on the walls is by local artists and depicts the surrounding areas as well as the Shuk Mahane Yehuda in Jerusalem. The kitchen is also stocked with local hand-made pottery.
We try to stock the kitchen with everything you might need to get your day started from the freshest coffee with an Italian macchinetta to a generous selection of teas.
The nearest green grocer is a 3 minute walk, while the larger supermarket in the new mall is a 7 minute walk. Jerusalem highlights such as Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial, the Israel Museum, Hadassah Hospital and the Old City are all a bus/train ride away. Tel Aviv is a 40 minute drive and there are buses nearby to every area of the country.
We have been hosting guests in our home for the past 15 years. We are so excited to have a new studio apartment for guests. We have literally hosted travelers from every corner of the world and love the connections we have made. We are artists/writers so you might notice some of our handiwork scattered throughout the property. You have total privacy but we are here if you need anything.
Here within walking distance there are grocery stores, a post office, excellent eateries and gas stations. You have a choice of nice restaurants, sushi, Israeli fast food (shwarma, falafel) and bakeries. Major clothing and electronic supply stores are in the nearby mall. Short bus rides will get you to the Israel Museum, the Bible Lands Museum and the Science Museum. Also a bus ride away are movie theatres, concert halls, pedestrian malls and of course the shuk. The Dead Sea is about 30 minutes by car. Ben Gurion is about 40 minutes away and Tel Aviv is 45 minutes.
