The Tower House sits on a site dating back to the 12th Century, making it one of the oldest Tower Houses in Ireland today. Boasting a magnificent Castle room which includes a murder hole & a garderobe. To the rear of The Tower House modern guest accommodation is available with en suite rooms, wifi, TV, hairdryers, electric blankets, tea & coffee facilities with home made biscuits. The triple & double rooms are on the upper floor which have spectacular views over looking the river Nore. The ground floor twin room enjoys the peaceful setting that befits a Medieval courtyard. Private car park available.
The Tower House is owned & operated by the Hennessy family for the past 30 years. Award winning Chef Trisha, delivers top class cuisine. Breakfast, which offer an array of mouth watering dishes, are included in your stay. Suppers at 7 showcase the provenance of food, experience quality & taste tradition at an affordable price. All our food, has a very strong emphasis on health & vitality, with all dietary requirements catered for. The Hennessy's endeavour to find way's to accommodate you.
The Tower House is situated right in the center of Thomastown. It is surrounded by a vast array of spectacular places to visit. Mount Juliet Estate, with its Michelen Star restaurent and Jack Nicklaus championship golf course is 1km away. The famous Kilfane waterfall & gardens are 2km from Thomastown. Foodie & craft lovers can explore the 'Kilkenny Food & Craft trail' taking in Goatsbridge trout farm, knockdrina cheese, mosses mill & mosses pottery & Jerpoint glass are less than 6km away. Sports enthusiasts can enjoy fishing on the river Nore & golf at Mount Juliet. In addition hunting & canoeing are available nearby. Kilkenny is 16km away offering breath taking Medieval sites, culture, crafts and 'ceoil agus craic'.
