Welcome! We’re delighted to host guests in the beautiful Castlemaine area — the gateway to both the Dingle Peninsula and the Ring of Kerry. We enjoy meeting people from all walks of life and love to make your trip as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Hosting allows us to share not only our property, but our favourite walks, beaches, and local cafés with you. When we’re not welcoming guests, we're kept busy raising our four daughters and farming sheep and cattle on our nearby farm. Your host, Cathy, has a background in hotel management and hospitality, which means every detail of your stay is thoughtfully considered — from the warm welcome to the high standard of comfort, cleanliness, and guest care you can expect throughout your visit. We aim to be responsive, helpful, and respectful of your privacy — always here if you need us, but happy to let you relax.
Castlemaine is a charming village nestled between the Slieve Mish mountains and the Atlantic coast. Known as the gateway to the Dingle Peninsula, it’s a perfect location for exploring the Ring of Kerry, the Wild Atlantic Way, Inch Beach (only 10 minutes away), Dingle and the iconic Connor Pass. The property's unique character is complemented by its proximity to the river Maine, providing picturesque views and opportunities for leisurely walks along the riverbank. Guests love the local scenery, friendly pubs, and easy access to outdoor adventures, including hiking, surfing, horse riding, and cycling. The area is steeped in Irish folklore — Castlemaine is even said to be the birthplace of the legendary Wild Colonial Boy. For day trips, Killarney, Killarney National Park, The Gap of Dunloe and Tralee are all within a 30-minute drive.
