Born from the rock the tower was also a watchtower & represents a piece of the villages history. According to BBC documentation the tower was founded in the 17th century in a place not easily accesible & hidden from the sea because of the fear of pirates. ...the Present Today the pirgos in Glinado begins a new Cycle of life. Restoration has been carried out with regard for the tower's history ? the stone, wood & other architectural elements characteristic of cycladic buildings have been maintained. Today the premises include a traditional Villa, HALAROS, where you can enjoy a relaxation stay with 360 degrees panoramic view along with a variety local Naxian experiences.
