A beautiful little house in the majestic Castle of Monemvasia, in Laconia Greece.
The house is located close to the main square of the Castle. Originally built centuries ago, it was rebuilt and restored over the years, but always evokes images of Byzantine and Venetian times. It has a wonderful terrace and a big garden with magnificent views of the sea and of the rest of the Castle.
Visiting Monemvasia means connecting with history and unwinding from the pressures of daily life, in an environment with no cars, enjoying the cobble-stoned paths and the views of the Rock and the sea in a serene environment (but with interesting bars and tavernas close by, as well!)
Even though we have made all efforts to provide the house with all modern amenities, due to its historical roots there might be a few things which are difficult to recreate or fix in the limited space sometimes available.
The kitchenette is not a fully-equipped kitchen, it only has two hot plates, a mini-oven and a half-height fridge; a determined cook can prepare decent meals, but do not expect Masterchef-level equipment.
Hi there! I'm George - or Γιώργος in Greek. But good friends call me Γιώργης. I'm Greek, but currently live in Luxembourg with my wife and kids, having also spent quite a few years in the UK and Romania. However, the one place I really call home is Monemvasia. It's a magical place, out of this world. Come and have a look... You'll love it too.
