There are many taverns in the village where you can taste traditional Greek delicacies (called “meze” in Greek). Maritsa is well known for its food, the friendly residents and the joyful local festivals. The natural beauty of its location is more than satisfying. You will find many small country churches scattered around the village, hidden in pine tree forests and olive oil groves. The most popular one is “Sotiras”, situated on the slopes of mountain “Koumouli” overlooking the village and the eastern side of Rhodes coast. The view is breathtaking! Maritsa village is well connected with the city of Rhodes by bus. There is a bus stop very close to the house and a timetable can be provided. However, the best option to explore the island is a car rental. The beach is around 6 km away and you can choose the west pebbly or the east sandy beaches because Maritsa is right in the middle of both sides.
