Konstantis is situated just on the edge of the village Kroustas and just outside the alleyway you can see an uninterrupted view of the mountains and the valleys all the way to the sea. Kroustas is a beautiful small little traditional village with one main street. As such, it is small enough that is can be walked within 10 minutes from end to end. Also, the village itself is flat so luckily you do not need to transverse any stairs in order to pass it. As such it, is also peaceful and quiet, ideal for someone that wants to detox from the busy eveyday life of a city. However, it is not a dead village. On the main street there are several nice taverns that attract people from the region, even from as far as the town of Agios Nikolaos! There is also an small mini market for your daily needs. Further down towards the sea, just 5 minutes by car is the town of Kritsa, also known as a traditional village which has more to offer in way of shops. A bit further, 15 to 20 minutes from the village you will find the town of Agios Nikolaos. It is the main town of the municipality and capital city of Lasithi, the eastern most province of Crete. With its beautiful beaches and famous “bottomless lake”, it provides enough to do and see for everyone. From there you can also follow the coast towards the famous Elounda or take a round trip directy to Spinalonga, the old fort -turned leper colony known from the works of author Victoria Hislop. Just at the beginning of the road leading to Kroustas, 15 minutes form the town is a Lidl. Close to Kritsa, one can visit the ancient greek town of Lato, the old main city of the region that is pretty good preserved and is the birthing place of the explorer Nearchos, Alexander the Greats childhood friend and admiral of the fleet, the first european to sail down the Persian gulf and even the part of the Indus river.
