Originally built as a four-storey Πύργος (tower) in 1100! Around 1700 is was one of the three towers of the lords (i.e. Fagri) of the settlement. Around mid-1800s, following king's Othon call, the Πύργος was cut in half in an attempt to control the ferocious resistance of the inhabitants who would be fortified inside the tall-thin Πύργος and would make impossible to conquer (or even stay alive). What remained from the Πύργος (two floors) were bought and re-built from my great grand father, Savvas. The struggles, though, did not end there as the house was burnt during the civil war in mid-1900s. Again the house was restored by my grandfather, Ilias, in 1962 until my mother Polly fully renovated it in 2010! Though completely renovated (featuring a fully functional & equipped kitchen), the house keeps the architecture and layout of the region and features unique characteristics of its rich history such as the arched architecture or its embrasures. In a nutshell, its age, integrity and significance are attributes that can characterize this house as "historic".

I am trying my best to maintain what my ancestors struggled to achieve throughout their lives! As part of this effort our house is offered for short-term rent to visitors who value its tremendous history and are interested to have first-hand experience the magnificent Mani! The tower-house is located at the heart of the village (settlement Fargianika), just a few meters from the main square (so, no hidden hills or stairs to climb!). There is one cafe in the village (50 meters away from the house) which also offers food upon request. There is two very nice restaurants around one to two kilometers away. In about 15 to 20 minutes you can reach the famous Kalogrea beach in Stoupa. Other beaches are 10 to 15 minutes away. The village is excellently located as you can enjoy your privacy and the nice breeze that the village offer while spectacular places and sights are near by. Overall, it is an excellent choice for those who want to relax from the frantic rythyms of our daily lives and those travelers who want to explore Mani. The area is also ideal for hiking, cycling and even hunting! There are four spectacular historic Churches nearby (the oldest dating back to 1100) and, of course, the unique monastery of Panayia Yiatrissa (Temple of Athena during ancient times) and the Vasiliki forest! In other words, an excellent choice combining both beach and mountain.
