Welcome to our Mansion. When we decided with my father's family, my parents and my sisters to use our home in Karytaina, in addition to the return on investment that only my father was thinking, we wanted to share pictures and moments that we have been living on since 2000, living on weekends. and summers, in the Mansion. Scents and colors from lavender and olive trees, mountain tops and the breeze full of Byzantine churches and history, not only of the heroes but also of the everyday anchors of mountainous Arcadia. At these times we would like to share with you, either staying in the village, walking the streets or utilizing the Mansion as a base for excursions. Andritsaina, Kyparissia, Zacharo west, Stemnitsa, Dimitsana, Chrysovitsi and even Mainalo north, Lykaios mountain, Lykosoura, Ismaia Karyon, Isari and Agia Theodora south, but also Kalamata, Mani, Avia
or Butterfly. For us and for you guests in our Mansion you will be fooled into thinking you are in the center of the world, after all Et in Arcadia ego !.
Karytaina in Arcadia, "Toledo of Greece", as the Franks called it, is a small village near the megalopolis with millennia of history. Ancient Brent gave place to Karytaina sometime in the 13th century when its famous castle was built. This and the name of Theodoros Kolokotronis characterize the village's identity in the turbulent centuries.
Many churches, such as Agios Nikolaos and Zoodochos Pigi, have many stone uphill streets and countless corners with imposing stone houses waiting to be explored. But surely the picture that will accompany your memory of Karytaina for a long time is the stunning view of the walls of the impregnable castle. The uphill stone path leads you to the gate and inside after a while and looking up at the settlement from there you feel like flying. Something the Franks, Palaiologists and Turks knew about, who were constantly fighting to keep it. Today the least you can do by crossing Karytaina is to climb this hill and let your eyes fill with pictures of the place all around. Just outside the village there is the famous big bridge of Alfios with the old Byzantine bridge in its shadow.
