This is our summer house (we live in Athens). My wife (a primary school music teacher) spends the whole summer there and I go back and forth. It's the place where we find some peace of mind.
Our house is very close to the town centre; less than 2 minutes walk. It has 3 doll-like levels; 12-15 sq.m. each! It is very traditionally equipped and decorated, but also with modern commodities (LCD TVs, DVD-players, no-frost fridge, kitchen, washing machine, electrical radiator in every room). It has a kitchen room, a living room, a bedroom with a big double bed, a toilette room (with a bathtub) and a small WC, a beautiful terrace... ...and an incredible view, both from the terrace and the bedroom windows!
I (Marios) am a lover of music (Prince, Mike Patton, Sinead O'Connor and so many more), vegetarian and intrigued by language similarities and differences. Etymology is an ever-present quest!
Kea is the nearest Cycladic island to Athens and Attica in general. Within one hour from the port of Lavrio you find yourself to be on a gorgeous island and away from it all! If you want to "party all night", Kea isn't the best place to be. Kea is more about relaxing, strolling around, enjoying beautiful sites and swimming in clear waters. Of course there are several spots where one can have a drink and listen to music, but for pure "partying" you'd better choose another island...
Ioulis is the capital of Kea (hence the unofficial name "Chora"), 5 km from the sea and is built on a hill side. The access to cars or bikes stops when you face the first houses; then begin the pathways and the wide stonesteps. Can't get more traditional than that!
