Situated at the edge of the quiet Lake District village of Brigsteer, Willow Tree Pod is a lovely wooden pod just for two plus one dog (GBP15.00). Look out over the Lyth Valley and enjoy the fresh Lakeland air, dark skies and say hello to the resident horses in the paddock. With underfloor heating and a good-pressure shower, you will be cosy and ready for a day of exploring the local countryside, or perhaps just spend time relaxing on the patio furniture, enjoying the peace and quiet. We also have Willow Tree Barn at the same location, which is a lovely sleeps 4 dog-friendly barn conversion. There is a handy kitchenette to make a simple meal, or, if you prefer to eat out, treat yourself to a meal at the highly-regarded local pub, The Wheatsheaf which is an 8 minute walk away- a tip for you: book in advance to reserve a table; it's deservedly popular. A comfy full-size double bed, a two-seater sofa, and a Smart TV mean you have the perfect 'escape pod' to recharge your batteries.

Brigsteer and the Lyth Valley: Nestled at the edge of the Lyth Valley, Brigsteer is a traditional Lakeland village of grey limestone cottages and is complete with an excellent pub, The Wheatsheaf. Beautiful, peaceful countryside is all around with lots of walking routes, including the favourite Scout Scar walk, which can be done straight from the door of Willow Tree Pod. Scout Scar is a superb high plateau reached via woodland and has far-reaching 360 degree views towards the Lake District mountains and Morecambe Bay. Longer routes can be done and turned into circular routes without needing to use your car. Outdoor activities, including water sports on Windermere, mountain biking, and multi-activity days at Holmescales Farm There are three stately homes just a few miles away - Sizergh Castle, which is a National Trust property near Kendal, from where you can also start good walking routes on public footpaths. Levens Hall is world-famous for its amazing topiary and has a very well regarded cafe too. Holker Hall and Gardens is another magnificent property to visit and (perhaps with a little planning...) could be your future wedding venue. Further afield: Kendal (6 miles) 1.
