Moors Valley and West Moors area is a small village just outside Ringwood. The main attraction is the totally amazing Country Park. You only pay for parking here (not cheap) but almost everything else is free otherwise - and it seriously delivers on value. More on it below.
The area is sandy, forested with mature pine trees, and very quiet. There is good access from the main A348 road to the New Forest coast and beaches - approx '20 minutes drive south.
Aside from Moors Valley, the forests link into one another across the area. There are numerous off road cycle and walking tracks. You can go for miles and miles. There are excellent local pubs to head out and visit.
All ages love Moors Valley Country Park. Plan to visit more than once. It has been updated recently and is a well loved favourite for families across the county. With massive and creative play-structures in the woods, 1 acre sand pit with climbing kit, another 1 acre wood-chip area with 3 story climbing structures and slides, and a netted ball area two storeys high up in the canopy. Then there are play structures out on the trails, the cycle paths and some bumps tracks, Gruffalo explorer trails for very little ones, learning activities, the mini ride-on train, miles of cycle paths, a cafe, tracks for those on mobility scooters etc. Sometimes there are good art installations too.
Older children will love the Go Ape course here.
Just 20 mins away by car, is the New Forest Aqua Park with wake boarding, massive floatation play kit, zorbing, wild swimming and more. It's just north of Fordingbridge.
