The Viewpoint is a light and airy loft-style apartment sleeping 4 and enjoys enviable views over Ambleside towards Loughrigg Fell. There's plenty of space for all, including the family dog, in this very well-designed and relaxing apartment. The Viewpoint has a stylish modern kitchen, dining area, house bathroom, and two comfortably appointed bedrooms. The far-reaching view towards the fells can be enjoyed while sitting in the lounge window seat. Outside, there is a shared patio area, ideal for a sundowner while admiring the view of those tempting fells. Those who are less mobile may find the access to the property challenging (slope and external steps). There is no parking on on-site, the nearest parking is a pay & display car park approx 5-minute walk from the apartment - 1 permit is provided to allow free parking. 1 x dog is permitted.

Ambleside is a fabulous location to holiday in the Lake District and it is a mecca for walkers with several walking routes starting from the village including the relatively gentle Loughrigg Fell (332m) which offers breathtaking views of Windermere and The Langdale Pikes. Stock Ghyll Force is another popular and more leisurely walk where you'll find the impressive 70ft waterfall in a woodland setting. Brockhole is just two miles away and a great day out for the family with everything from boat hire, to axe throwing, tree top treks, zip-wiring - you name it!
Rydal (1.5 miles) and Grasmere (5 miles) are both within walking distance along one of two routes, one of which passes the Rydal Cave. Both of Wordsworth's homes - Rydal Mount and Dove Cottage can be found here. Alternatively, hop on board the open-top Lakes Explorer bus that connects to Rydal, Grasmere, Thirlmere (for Helvellyn) and Keswick. All single-journey fares are capped at 3.00 GPB until the end of 2025.
Ullswater is 14 miles away, via the scenic Kirkstone Pass, where you can hop onboard the Ullswater Steamers, or perhaps tackle one of the surrounding fells such as Place Fell or Helvellyn.
Keswick (17 miles) is a little further away but still worth a visit. Here you have Derwent Water which also offers boat cruises. Again you can hop on the bus for 3.00 GPB per person - cheaper than trying to park in Keswick!
Windermere (4.5 miles) is where you'll find more shops, restaurants, cafes and bars and a little further down the road is Bowness-on-Windermere. We recommend catching the boat from Ambleside's Waterhead Pier to Bowness or staying onboard and continuing to Lakeside at the southern tip of Lake Windermere for the Lakes Aquarium and Haverthwaite Steam Train.
Hawkshead (4 miles) A quintessential historic and picturesque Lake District village set amongst gentle rolling hills and woodland. The nearby Tarn Hows is a great short walk accessible for all on a level route with spectacular views...
