The Larch Room is recently converted outbuilding attached to our home in Brandsby. It has it's own private access,a generous hallway (where breakfast is served), spacious double bedroom and an ensuite shower room. Breakfast is included in the price, the menu varies seasonally but we try to keep it locally sourced and are happy to accomodate your dietary requirements. The menu also includes the option of a breakfast hamper. Please note that we can only offer a hamper Monday-Friday, but it’s a good one!
The room has tea and coffee making facilities, shampoo, conditioner and soap. There is a Wifi in the room and a smart TV with Netflix, Prime etc. We can also provide lockable bike storage and bike and boot washing facilities.
Our cottage has a garden to the front with great views across to Crayke Castle, guests are welcome to enjoy the space, meet our friendly flock of hens and even have breakfast on the terrace if the weather makes it possible.
James and I have recently renovated this stone cottage in the Howadian Hills, we have a busy, young family and a lovely dog but the Larch Room is private and quiet and you need not be disturbed at all! We enjoy the country life here and we are big fans of this beautiful and lesser known area of Yorkshire. We will happily be on hand to advise on places to eat and things to do during your stay.
Brandsby is a small village, it boasts beautiful countryside, an unusual example of a Georgian church and its is a great base for walking and biking. Although there is no pub in the village itself we are really spoilt for pubs and restaurants in the local area, the closest being a 5 minute drive away in Crayke, The Durham Ox. Castle Howard is a magnificent stately home, just 20 minutes away, it's a fabulous place to visit but also regularly host events, concerts and their Christmas light show is always amazing.
The market towns of Malton and Helmsley are both just 20 minutes away and a drive into central York is just 30 minutes on a clear run.
We are an hour from the beautiful Yorkshire coast, 10 mins from the North York Moors National Park and The Dales National Park just under an hour if you're wanting to see as much of Yorkshire as possible!!
