The Flat is perfectly situated within the town to visit the Art Studios and Vintage quarter at St Michaels Trading Estate and also the Lyric Theatre and Electric Palace Theatre and Cinema. Bridport has some wonderful places to eat, and drink including Dorshi, Soulshine, The Potting Shed outdoor kitchen & bar, Dark Bear on East street is well worth a visit, serving its award winning cocktails in the cool cellar bar or in the sunny garden outside. The nearest beach at West Bay is just over a mile away, there are many beaches to explore including Eype, Hive - Burton Bradstock, Lyme Regis & Weymouth all just a short drive. There are regular busses to Lyme Regis, Weymouth and Dorchester. Enjoy seafood at The club house at West bexington or Hive, or a pub lunch at The Anchor, Seatown , all with the most wonderful sea views. You can take the RIB from West Bay to Lyme Regis, Hire paddle boards, or just sit on the beach and watch the world go by. Theres a couple of friendly local swimming groups, who always welcome new faces if you you fancy meeting up. The surrounding countryside is wonderful to explore on foot, and there are countless National Trust sites you can visit within a short drive of the property. These include Golden Cap, Eggardon Hill, Hardy Monument, Hardy's Cottage and Lambert's Castle.

Bridport hosts twice weekly vintage markets and boasts many independent shops, restaurants and pubs. The town has a wonderful feel, full of Artists and food venues, Theatres and the Electric Palace Art Deco cinema and many beautiful beaches
