Although The Barn is new to this site, it has been successfully operated for many years with many repeat guests and excellent reviews.
We also have our lovely and popular B&B at Walker Ground Manor available to book via a separate listing on this site.
Sue & Richard have run the B&B and The Barn from their home Walker Ground Manor for over 10 years and enjoy welcoming and looking after their guests.
As onsite hosts, they are very happy to give tips and recommendations for things to do and places to go.
Hawkshead is a beautiful village of historical interest. It has a small supermarket and a section of independent shops. There are also two Pubs in the village serving food as well as a selection of cafes and a Bistro.
There are many beautiful walks from the door and direct cycle access to the numerous mountain biking trails in Grizedale Forest. Nearby Esthwaite Water also offers fishing and there are many interesting places to visit including Beatrix Potter’s home Hill Top & The Gallery. Ambleside, Coniston, Windermere & Bowness and the Langdale Valley are just a short drive away.
Hawkshead is an idea location from which to explore the whole Lake District.
