Novar Estate has been in existence for more than four hundred years and is still run by the same family with a team of dedicated staff. There are eight holiday cottages on Novar and a further one in Highland Perthshire

Strone has just undergone a complete refurbishment. It sits in an outstanding position overlooking the River Alness. It has a large enclosed garden with a path and gate leading to its own private pool on the river. It is accessed via a well-maintained track and private drive. The ground floor has a well-equipped kitchen-diner and boot room while upstairs is a sitting room with balcony overlooking the river and the hills beyond, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. It is warm, bright, spacious and comfortable with complementary Wi-Fi. Heating is provided via an environmentally friendly air source heat pump. The beds may be configured as twins or doubles with Egyptian cotton bedlinen and towels. The Strone pool of the River Alness is for the exclusive use of guests staying in the cottage. We are pleased to offer Strone to groups of friends or families with children over eight years old.

Fishing is at its best on the River Alness from May to October and permits may be obtained in advance from Novar Estate Office. Strone is also an ideal base for walking or mountain biking.
