Caedr Idris the second highest mountain in the Snowdonia National Park. It really is wonderful scenery and a great walk. There is parking at the Caedr Idris visitor centre. The Cambrian line runs between Aberystwyth and Pwllheli (change at Machynlleth) following the curve of Cardigan Bay. The train ride can be a day trip in its own right but there is also loads to do along the way. Barmouth is a fun day out for the family. There is a great bike ride along the Mawddach Trail – approximately 10 miles each way with places to eat along the way. Bikes can be hired from Barmouth. Fairbourne is just 5 minutes by car and has a fantastic sandy beach when the tide is out. Great for a day at the beach and a long walk. You can catch the water taxi over to Barmouth from the far end of Fairbourne. Llandanwg (near Harlech) is a hidden treasure of a beach. Great for rock pooling and just enjoying the views of Snowdonia. There is a car park and café at the beach. A family favourite of ours. Harlech Castle is well worth a visit and so is Royal St David’s Golf Course Tywyn is great for the beach and has some really nice cafes and restaurants. Mors fish and chips is a family favourite. There is also the Magic Lantern Cinema which is worth a visit for a quirky night out at the flicks. Aberdovey has plenty of water sports, sandy beach and a great golf course. There some lovely shops selling local products and plenty of places to eat and drink.
