Its village green is surrounded by pretty cottages and superb local pub, The Dun Cow, which has a large front garden overlooking the salt marsh and a lovely open fire in the cosy bar during the colder months. East of the village, past the village pond, is Mac's Plaice where you can buy Fish & Chips during the summer months, Cookies Crab Shop offers platters of seafood, salads, sandwiches and ice cream and The Old Post Office is now a village store which serves coffee and treats alongside local produce, home essentials and coastal gifts, so you really are spoilt for choice with all this on your doorstep! Standing majestically over the village, Salthouse Church holds regular art exhibitions and concerts throughout the year.
From the village green there are fantastic walks down to the beach, along the coastal paths and up the hill to Kelling Heath, with breathtaking views, or you can catch the Coasthopper Bus service and take a ride to the many other stunning villages along this coast. You can bus directly to the charming coastal towns of Sheringham and Cromer where you will find no end of things to keep you amused, including The Poppy Line scenic steam train running between Sheringham and Holt, and the wonderful pier at Cromer.

It's a shopper's paradise, with art and antique galleries, independent fashion boutiques and gift shops, grocery stores offering the best of local produce and a good selection of cafes, pubs and restaurants to tempt your taste buds.
