Near the beautiful River Eden, in the ancient town of Appleby in Westmorland, this traditional 17th century coaching inn offers free Wi-Fi and en suite rooms. The Royal Oak Appleby is rated as a 4-star Silver Inn by VisitBritain, the tourist board of the United Kingdom. All of the rooms have high-quality beds and en suite shower rooms. Each room has a flat-screen TV with free view channels. All rooms (excluding the Cottage) have free Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi is available in the public areas. There is also a charming 2-bedroom stone cottage ideal for families or groups of friends. The inn offers real cask ales and the very popular restaurant serves good quality pub food, made using the finest ingredients from local suppliers. The inn makes a great base from which to explore the Pennine Way, the Lake District or the Settle-Carlisle railway. Appleby Railway Station is just a 5-minute drive away.
