Situated in the quiet hamlet of Quoditch halfway between Dartmoor and the North Cornish Coast (25 minutes by car to both!), Carey Valley Glamping is the perfect location to use as a base to explore North Cornwall and West Devon. Just a short stroll from Nemetona is the must visit the South Quoditch Medicine Wheel. Head out of the village and explore the local Stone Circles of Bodmin and Dartmoor, where people in ancient times gathered to worship and celebrate the cycles of nature.
The Dartmoor Tors National Park is a fascinating showcase of coooled and solidified molten rock. There are many walks to discover including the ancient Whitman Woods. Climb to the top of Brentor to see the views from the church at the top, then enjoy a spot of lunch at The Two Bridges. This can be a wild and bracing place to explore, so wrap up warm as the weather is unpredictable.
Only a few minutes drive away, Roadford Lake offers many water sports and activities, and there is a lovely walk round part of the lake. A huge range of locally made delicious ice cream is available from the cafe on a sunny day.
Wonderful for families, the closest beaches are on the North Cornish Coast; Widemouth, Northcott and Summerleaze are the beaches of Bude and approximately 35 minutes away. There are many beautiful sandy, surfing beaches to find if you explore deeper into Cornwall or along the North Devon coast.
Clovelly to Croyde Bay, are both worth a day trip out, as are Barnstable and Illfracombe. Travel to National Trust Lundy to see the wildlife thriving there. An atmospheric old fishing harbour village, visit the quaint coastal village of Boscastle in Cornwall, which is home to Boscastle Farm Shop overlooking the sea and coastal path. Book lunch at the popular The Napoleon Pub, located at the top of the village. Immerse yourself in history, myth, and stunning scenery at Tintagel Castle on Cornwall's rugged north coast.
