Mickley Bed and Breakfast: Probably the Best Bed and Breakfast in North Yorkshire. We have free WiFi. With prior arrangement we are dog and child friendly. Children in cots are free but we do not have cots or camp beds or bedding for children. With prior arrangement, older children - a maximum of three - can camp in with their parents in The Amber Suite at a nominal price per night per child (Please ask for detail) if they bring their own camp bed, bedding, pillows and towels. A bus goes to Mickley twice a week, at 9 o’clock, to Ripon - so a car is essential! To avoid disappointment, it is advisable to book a table for your evening meal as far in advance as you can - and ditto a taxi should you want one. If you want advice or help with either please ask me. Check out our TripAdvisor reviews :-) and see much more about us on our website (www.mickley-b-and-b.co.uk) We believe the oldest parts of our traditional country house date back to about 1730, and it has often been called The Tardis due to the exterior seemingly being much smaller than the interior.
We welcome you into our family home, where you will be looked after in the manor to which you would like to become accustomed. Nothing is set in stone so if you have any special requirements, please just ask. Everything that can be bought locally is; wherever possible we give home-made jams and marmalades and make every effort to use local produce. Our aim is for you to really enjoy your stay here, and, as many already do, to keep coming back!
Mickley is a small, quiet cherry tree lined village on the edge of the Yorkshire dales and is situated five miles North West of the city of Ripon. There are a huge variety of things to do locally, please see our website (www.mickley-b-and-b.co.uk) under Things to Do. We are only 3.5 miles from Lightwater Valley Theme Park and we also have some wonderful walks and riverside walks to two superb pubs in West Tanfield and up to the 18th century, 117 acres of ancient semi-natural woodland of Hackfall. You definitely need a car as there is no public transport to speak of. If you are after loud music and partying until dawn, this B&B is not for you!
