We look forward to welcoming you to this glorious bit of South West Scotland and hope you come to love it as much as we do. We want you to have a fantastic holiday and want to come back again and again as many of our guests do. We farm the Arbigland Estate which is an area of outstanding natural beauty and recognised as such in that it is designated as being in a National Scenic Area and a site of Special Scientific Interest - the fossils along the beach tell a tale. We want to share it with you and will do all we can to ensure you have a brilliant holiday.

A charming and very comfortable countryside cottage in an idyllic rural location 10 minutes walk from the beach. There are two ensuite bedrooms (one twin, one double) and a living area with a fully fitted kitchen and sitting and dinning area. There is a cosy woodburning stove for winter evenings (though heating is provided!) and a sunny West facing garden (dog proof) for a BBQ and glass of wine while enjoying the glorious Galloway countryside. There are lovely walks straight from the door and lots to explore and see nearby. There is a house behind the cottage but it doesn't overlook the cottage and you have complete privacy. The perfect place to get away from it all, great for birdwatching (between two major bird sanctuaries - Mersehead and Caerlaverock), close to two of the 7 Stanes mountain biking routes, a championship golf course a few miles away (Southerness) and fantastic countryside all around so very popular with artists and walkers. Close to the beach so great for children friendly holidays. Come and explore - we look forward to welcoming you.

"The Solway Riviera" a stunning part of Dumfries and Galloway. Little Dunbar is very popular with birdwatchers, walkers, mountain bikingers and golfers (Southerness Championship course is a 10 minute drive away). Our cottage also attracts artists as the surrounding scenery really is inspiring. There is lots to see and do locally - the food town of Castle Douglas is a 30 minute drive away and Kircudbright is the 'artists' town further along the coast. There are lovely walks all along the coast and charming seaside villages to explore nearby such as Rockcliffe, Sandyhills, and Kippford. Kippford also being a popular sailing destination. Our unique micro climate (thanks to the Gulf Stream) means that there are some stunning gardens - the National Trust garden of Threave and further along the coast, Logan Botanical Gardens and Castle Kennedy. If you are a foodie you can't miss a visit to the smokeries on the way to Wigtown (renowned for it's Book Festival and array of unique book shops) and the Farm shop at Loch Arthur - a 15 minute drive away. Drumlanrig Castle is well worth a visit and the charms of Sweet Heart Abbey are just down the road. Lots to see and do!
