Two unique, modern eco-cabins situated in Inverkirkaig, 2.8 miles from Lochinver shops and restaurants. Both cabins are privately located on either side of our three-acre croft with jaw-dropping sea-loch, beach and mountain views. They are self-contained with a lounge area, wood stove, electric heating, kitchen and bathroom facilities and generous outdoor deck with exceptional views. They have been bespoke-created from local, sustainably-sourced materials, including Douglas fir and natural sheep’s wool insulation. Affectionately named after crofters old-style potato patches, Lazybed, a small, one bedroom house with king-size bed (or twin) featuring a high sloping ceiling, creating a roomy, bright space. Batbox, meanwhile, is a light-filled, contemporary studio space, with a double bed and an overhanging roof that inspired its name.

After long careers in travel and advertising plus a few years globetrotting, we moved to Inverkirkaig in 2008. A new chapter. A new adventure! We have been hosting guests for the past 12 years. It's always a pleasure to meet people from all over the world and to welcome them to this stunning landscape.

This area of the magnificent North West Highlands is known as Assynt, a geographically and geologically remarkable landscape. Many of Scotland’s most individual and charismatic mountains are close by and the stunning coastline stretches north to the white sandy beaches of Achmelvich, Oldshoremore and Sandwood Bay and south to the wild, rocky coves and shell sands of Wester Ross. A multitude of trout-filled lochs cover the hinterland and the beautiful River Kirkaig, with its excellent salmon fishing and waterfall path, is only ten minutes walk from the door. Whether it's cycling, walking, kayaking, wildlife spotting, running, swimming or simply relaxing, this wonderful area of Scotland has it all.
