The neighbourhood
The luxury pod is situated on the outskirts of the pretty Cheshire village of Tattenhall where you’ll find a pub, restaurants and several shops where you can pick up groceries and other essentials. Tattenhall also boasts a marina with moorings for canal boats and you can hire one for the day if you wish.
You’re also in great walking country and within easy access of the long-distance Sandstone Trail. Take a section such as that from the village of Tarporley to Burwardsley and highlights include the Shropshire Union Canal, the River Gowy and the ruined Beeston Castle.
With the elegant Bolesworth Castle being just a 5-minute drive away, you’re also conveniently placed for popular events including CarFest and the prestigious Bolesworth International Horse Show held here each year.
If you like to shop, there are lots of Cheshire villages within driving distance and Tarporley is a popular place to seek out boutique fashion, gifts, art and antiques, as well as enjoy a good range of pubs, cafes and restaurants. Meanwhile, the city of Chester has plenty more to offer including shopping, sightseeing, a stroll along the River Dee, a day at the races, or an evening at the theatre.
If you’ve got the kids in tow, the Cheshire Ice Cream Farm with its play facilities and farm animals is usually a hit, while The Crocky Trail offers little ones the opportunity to have outdoor fun on rope swings, slides and bridges.
Getting around
A car is highly recommended for travelling to the property and ease of getting around. The nearest main train station is in Chester, about 8 miles away. Tarporley is about 5 miles away and if you’d like to explore further afield the North Wales Coast can be reached in around an hour, while the Snowdonia National Park is about 1 hour and 30 minutes away.
