The village of Milburn isn’t a typical Cumbrian village in that it framed around an ancient village green by individual country properties. The surrounding farmland offers a pretty rural landscape away from the hustle and bustle. The local villages offer Inns, fabulous local bakeries, tea rooms and independent shops and craft outlets. This is an area enjoyed by both walkers and cyclists, with the coast-to-coast path close by with routes for all abilities and it is literally from the door. You could spend a week simply walking or cycling from the cottage. Within a short drive there is the Northern lake district with lake Ullswater and the market towns of Penrith and Keswick well worth a visit.
