Heatherdene House offers elegant bed and breakfast accommodation in the attractive Dorset village of Corfe Mullen, just 10 minutes drive away from Poole Town and the historic Poole Quay. Nestled between the Purbeck hills and Cranborne Chase, Wimborne is just down the road with its famous weekend market, beautiful old theatre and Wimborne Minster itself. Sitting squarely in a third of an acre in a quiet residential road, Heatherdene is ideally placed for guests who want peaceful surroundings and a central location just a short distance from all the local attractions. The accommodation is secluded and not overlooked, the gardens a haven for birds and provide a tranquil setting with plenty of off-road parking. If you like to be woken by nothing but the sound of the "dawn chorus", this is the place for you. Each room has tea and coffee making facilities, a TV and hair-dryer. Breakfast is served in the bay-windowed, period reception room which reflects our interest in antiques. You can expect a good selection of fresh fruits, yoghurts and cereals to accompany your full-English breakfast and toast. Good pubs, an excellent Indian restaurant and well-stocked shop within walking distance.
We have been welcoming guests to our B&B for over 9 years. Our aim is to ensure that your night or two away from home is the real treat that it should be, our success is measured by what our guests say about us and our feedback is consistent, "a wonderful experience, the house is brilliant, the food delicious, nothing is too much trouble", "impeccably clean .. great sociable hosts", "lovely home .. and very comfortable bed". With extensive knowledge of the area and local history, Mike has a reputation for helping our guests to make the best of the time they spend here - with both known attractions and Dorset's "hidden gems". We are always happy to share our interest in antiques and history. Located 6 miles from the Poole ferry ports to the Channel Islands and France, we can supply delicious packed breakfasts for early departures. We have 2 resident "rescue" cats and our "rescue"chickens roam free in our garden during the daytime. We have off-road parking at the front of our property.
Where do we start? At the gateway to the Jurassic coast and the West Country, this area is close to the Bournemouth and Sandbanks beaches, the New Forest National Park, the Purbeck villages of Corfe Castle, Wareham and the seaside town of Swanage with its popular steam railway. We are just 23 miles from Weymouth and the Thomas Hardy town of Dorchester and you can reach Devon within 40 minutes. We are close to the bird reserve on Arne and the National Trust properties including Brownsea Island in Poole Harbour, Kingston Lacey house, Studland Bay and Corfe Castle. We are within 20 minute drive to Monkey World, as seen on TV, and the National Tank Museum. Corfe Mullen boasts 4 pubs serving good food and the Taj, one of the best Indian restaurants for miles, but if you wish to dine outside of the village a selection of excellent restaurants and eating houses can be found in Wimborne just 2 miles down the road and Poole, 6 miles away.
